Erin and Travis, Boranup Forest Viewpoint

Boranup Forest, tucked between Margaret River and Augusta, is one of the most striking spots in the South West for a shoot, and it was the perfect backdrop for Erin and Travis's engagement and family session in July.

An Overcast Start That Turned Golden

We started at the Boranup Forest Viewpoint at 10am, and the morning kicked off cold and overcast, the kind of soft grey light that karri forests actually handle beautifully. Partway through the shoot the sun broke through, and the light shifting through the tall karri trunks made for some of my favourite frames of the day.

A Family Celebration Too

Erin's family had flown in for her grandma's birthday, so we made the most of having everyone together and folded in some family portraits alongside Erin and Travis's engagement photos. No kids running around this time, just a relaxed, fun morning with a couple clearly very comfortable in front of the camera and a family enjoying being together.

Looking Ahead to the Wedding

Erin and Travis are getting married next year, and after a morning like this I cannot wait to be back behind the camera for it. If their engagement session was anything to go by, it is going to be a great day.
