Not every event I photograph looks like a typical function room. This one was held inside a private aircraft hangar at Perth Airport, and it's still one of the more memorable corporate events I've had the chance to be part of.
Airflite hosted VIPs and executives to celebrate their new partnership with Gama Aviation Asia, bringing global aircraft management capability into the Australian market through Airflite's own network. Rather than a boardroom announcement, they marked the occasion properly, opening up a hangar at Perth Airport for a genuinely social evening.
The setting did a lot of the work. Aircraft and a row of Bentley Continentals were on display throughout the hangar, giving the whole space a polished, high end feel without it ever tipping into stiff or corporate. The evening opened with an Aboriginal Welcome to Country, a genuinely moving way to bring the event together and set the tone before the guests mingled among the cars and aircraft.
It's the kind of event where the room itself is half the photography brief. Reflections off polished paintwork, the scale of the aircraft against the guests, the warmth of a hangar lit for an evening function rather than daytime maintenance work, all of it made for a really distinctive set of images.
Based in Bunbury and covering corporate work across the South West, I'm also available for events across the Perth metro area, like this one at Perth Airport. Whether it's a product launch, partnership celebration, awards night, or VIP function in Bunbury, Busselton, Margaret River, Mandurah, or Perth, I'd love to help you document it properly.
