A Fremantle Wedding, Aislinn and Gavyn
Fremantle is one of those places that just works for weddings. The history, the light, the textures, there's something around every corner worth photographing. Aislinn and Gavyn's February 2026 wedding was a great reminder of why it's one of my favourite places to shoot.
Getting Ready at Be. Fremantle
The morning started at Be. Fremantle Serviced Apartments, a stylish spot right in the heart of Freo that gave us a great setting for the getting ready shots. With eight hours together we had plenty of time to capture the quieter moments of the morning before things kicked into gear.
The Ceremony
Aislinn and Gavyn tied the knot at the Fremantle Marriage Office, with celebrant Aisha Puchert taking care of the formalities. It's a beautiful and intimate setting for a ceremony, and it suited them perfectly. What made it even more special was that they were already a little family, their daughter was there to be part of the day, which added a really lovely layer to everything.
Photos in Fremantle and Bathers Beach
After the ceremony we headed out into Fremantle for portraits. The streets, laneways and architecture of Freo give you so much to work with, and February light in the afternoon is stunning along the waterfront. Bathers Beach was the perfect way to finish, open sky, soft sand and that classic Fremantle coastal feel.
February in Fremantle can be warm but the sea breeze usually comes through in the afternoon, and on this day it worked in our favour for some beautiful light along the beach.
The Reception at Bathers Beach House
After portraits on the beach it was a short walk to Bathers Beach House for the reception. Perth's only absolute beachfront restaurant, bar and function space, it sits right on the sand with floor to ceiling windows and 180 degree views over Bathers Beach.
We headed inside for the start of the reception but when golden hour hit we headed back out to make the most of it. The Fremantle Wheel nearby made for a great backdrop for some sunset portraits, with that warm evening light that only February in Fremantle can deliver. It's one of those moments that makes a long day completely worth it.
About Fremantle as a Wedding Location
Fremantle is an incredible city for wedding photography. The port city has a unique character, colonial architecture, vibrant street art, the iconic E Shed Markets and Bathers Beach all within easy walking distance of each other. If you're considering a Fremantle wedding or elopement, you're spoiled for choice when it comes to photo locations.
Fremantle is within my standard coverage area and there is no travel fee for couples getting married there.
