When Kara and Matt decided to get married at Perth Zoo, they weren't after a big production. They wanted something small, personal and a little different, and that's exactly what they got.
A Unique Venue for an Intimate Day
Perth Zoo is not your typical wedding venue, and that's precisely the point. With around 15 guests in attendance, Kara and Matt kept things close, just the people who mattered most, surrounded by one of Perth's most unique settings. It's the kind of wedding that feels relaxed and genuine because it is.
The Ceremony
Celebrant Cathy from Weddings with Cathy took care of the legals, while one of Kara and Matt's friends stepped up to do the reading, a small personal touch that made the ceremony feel even more intimate. It's those little moments that remind you a wedding doesn't need to be elaborate to be meaningful.
Photos at the Zoo
With two hours together, we made the most of everything Perth Zoo had to offer as a backdrop. The grounds gave us plenty of variety — lush greenery, interesting textures and light that made for some beautiful natural portraits. A mini wedding doesn't mean fewer great photos, it just means you move through things at a more relaxed pace.
