Ria and Naomi, A Wedding at North Dandalup Dam

Ria and Naomi got married at North Dandalup Dam, and it's one I still think about, the first wedding I've photographed at a dam.

The ceremony was held right down at the base of the dam wall, with around 60 guests gathered to watch Ria and Naomi say their vows. Afterwards we headed up to the top of the dam wall for couple portraits, with that huge stretch of water behind them. It's not a location you see often for a wedding, but it made for some genuinely striking photos.

From there the celebration moved to a backyard for a DIY reception, relaxed, personal and clearly put together with a lot of love. There's something about a reception like that, no fixed run sheet from a venue, just family and friends pitching in to make the day feel like their own.
