Sometimes the rain shows up uninvited, and sometimes it makes for the best day anyway.

Getting ready and a rainy start

Madeleine got ready on the property at Baldivis Farm Stay and Country Charm Weddings, which meant a relaxed and unhurried morning surrounded by the charm of this beautiful rustic venue. By the time the ceremony rolled around the rain had well and truly set in.

The barn saves the day

But Country Charm's barn saved the day. The ceremony moved inside and honestly, it was perfect. Warm, intimate and full of character. The barn at Country Charm is one of those spaces that just works regardless of what the weather is doing outside. We kept the family and wedding party photos inside too, making the most of the beautiful rustic interior and soft light.

Golden hour with a puppy

And then the rain stopped. We headed outside with Madeleine, Daniel and their puppy for some golden hour portraits as the sun broke through. There's something about that post-rain light, everything feels fresh, the colours pop and the sky puts on a show. Add a puppy into the mix and you've got some pretty special images.

It was one of those days that reminds you why a rainy wedding isn't something to fear, it's just a different kind of beautiful.
