Wendy and Mitch, The Cut Golf Course, Dawesville

The Cut Golf Course sits high above the Indian Ocean on the south side of Mandurah, and on a moody, overcast day it looks absolutely stunning.

Wendy and Mitch's wedding here was one of those days where the weather actually worked in our favour. No harsh midday sun, no squinting, just soft, even light that was perfect for photography from start to finish.

And then there was Wendy's dress. Black. Striking, bold and completely fitting for a darker, moody themed wedding that was unlike anything I'd photographed before. Against the lush green fairways and deep blue ocean backdrop, with the wind adding a bit of drama, it made for some of the most dramatic and striking wedding images I've had the pleasure of capturing.

The venue

The Cut is a spectacular venue, perched on the dunes with sweeping views of the Indian Ocean, a beautifully renovated clubhouse and ceremony options right on the course overlooking the water. It's one of those venues that does the hard work for you.

Photo booth for the reception

Wendy and Mitch also had my photo booth for the reception, which always adds a lot of fun to the evening. Their guests absolutely loved it.
